Maumee Valley Growers Photo Album
The Maumee Valley Growers is a not-for-profit association of regional growers who are committed to sustaining and growing the local economy. Among the priorities for the Maumee Valley Growers include developing a "buy local" promotional campaign, addressing energy supply and cost issues, improving the management structure of greenhouses, and building purchasing power among greenhouse owners.
Dr. Neil Reid, Interim Director of the UAC, and Dr. Michael Carroll, Director of the BGSU Center for Regional Development, are co-managers of a grant obtained from the US Department of Agriculture in 2004 for the purpose of funding the Maumee Valley Growers as an industrial cluster (for more information about clusters in northwest Ohio, see the Northwest Ohio Economic Research Collaborative web page; click here to see how this concept applies to the Maumee Valley Growers).
