Walk Westgate

The Walk Westgate effort began in Setpember 2000 with an initial design charrette. Local residents, businesses, design and planning professionals, and design and planning students from the University of Toledo, the University of Michigan, and Kent State University transformed stakeholder input into design ideas for the target area. Following the Charrette, the students continued to refine and develop those ideas and came up with their final presentation. Their final presentation was an inspirational starting point to use to develop a plan for the area.

The Westgate area has undergone changes since that time, and has been much in the news recently. Click here to review the original planning documents and conculsions from the September 2000 design charrette.
