BACKGROUND
THE CHARRETTE
The Charrette, held in September of 2000, was the initial design visioning exercise. Local residents, businesses, design and planning professionals, and design and planning students from the University of Toledo, the University of Michigan, and Kent State University transformed stakeholder input into design ideas for the target area. Following the Charrette, the students continued to refine and develop those ideas and came up with their final presentation. Their final presentation is really an inspirational starting point or vision for us to use to kick off a process to develop a plan for the area.
