The Urban Affairs Center and the Toledo Lucas County Public Library are pleased to announce the
release of the Discover Downtown Toledo Tours Guidebook. The guidebook, produced by a team of local
historians, writers, photographers, and graphic artists, is a publication of the recently formed UAC Press.
The Discover Downtown Toledo Tour Guidebook provides a locator map, photographs, along with architectural and historic descriptions of 57 of Downtown Toledo’s most historically significant buildings and sites. The Guidebooks also features historic photographs and descriptions of 14 key buildings forever lost to the wrecking ball. The Guidebook was designed for both self-guided tours and for use by the Discover Downtown Toledo Tour Program. The Discover Downtown Toledo Tour Program which is jointly administered by The Urban Affairs Center and The Toledo Lucas County Public Library is a group of volunteers who are trained in Toledo history and architecture. The free, summertime tours are conducted weekly at lunchtime on Thursdays. The tours begin at various locations throughout Downtown.
