Promenades and Guidebook Showcase Historic Downtown Buildings

For those who wish to learn more about the buildings that make up downtown Toledo, free Thursday tours are being conducted throughout the summer sponsored by The University of Toledo's Urban Affairs Center (UAC) and the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library.

A Discover Downtown Toledo Tours Guidebook is also available. It is free for those participating in the walking tour or can be ourchased for $5 at the UAC, the main Toledo-Lucas County Library, Thackeray's Books and other local bookstores. The downtown guide features a locator map, photographs, architectural and brief descriptions of 57 buildings determined as the city's most historically significant. An additional 14 buildings lost to the wrecking ball have been included.

Tour brouchures with dates and meeting locations are available at the library or on the Urban Affairs Center web site uac.utoledo.edu.
