The Council of State Governments
The Council of State Governments provides the only regional network for identifying and sharing ideas with state leaders.
Council of Great Lakes Governors
a private, non-profit organization devoted to working cooperatively on public policy issues common to its eight member states: Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Since its establishment in 1983, the Council has served as a vehicle for actively addressing the many issues that arise as a result of the Great Lakes Governors collective responsibility for both the worlds largest source of fresh water and the industrial heartland of North America.
National Governors' Association
NGA is the only bipartisan national organization of, by, and for the nations' Governors. Its members are the Governors of the fifty states, the commonwealths of the Northern Mariana Islands and Puerto Rico, and the territories of American Samoa, Guam, and the Virgin Islands. Through NGA, the Governors identify priority issues and deal collectively with issues of public policy and governance at both the national and state levels. The association's mission is to provide a forum for Governors to exchange views and experiences among themselves; assistance in solving state focused problems; information on state innovations and practices; and a bipartisan forum for Governors to establish, influence, and implement policy on national issues.
NACo - National Association of Counties
The association acts as a liaison with other levels of government, works to improve public understanding of counties, serves as a national advocate for counties and provides them with resources to help them find innovative methods to meet the challenges they face.
Municipal Waste Management Association
Represents an important collaboration between the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) and the National Association of Counties (NACo) on behalf of our nation's communities. Affiliated with The United States Conference of Mayors, MWMA is dedicated to and driven by the needs of municipal solid waste directors, environmental commissioners and public works professionals. Formed in 1982, MWMA promotes operational efficiencies, facilitates information, fosters innovation and promotes legislative advocacy around Superfund, brownfields redevelopment, clean air, clean water and waste to energy regulations.

Members are the executive branch agencies that have primary responsibility for providing community development, housing, or local economic development assistance to localities and communities.
